on another note.... BMW's.

So ; on another note - I continue to do what I love ; and work on European cars. My friend Alex came up from Marin the other day in his sick little BMW ; and we ran up to Windsor, in search of Ford Injectors. Here's a pic of Alex's ride:

Ford Injectors!? You ask? Yes... 5.0 L V8 Ford Injectors / found in many Lincoln Towncars ; Mustangs ; and other Ford powered v8 cars. And for use on, you guessed it - the BMW. Turns out the flow of these Ford injectors matches up just a bit above the stock BMW ones. So we got a set, ran back down to Petaluma and installed them. The results were great - his car no longer hesitated on a road test, and basically took off like a rocket when floored. He said it really helped his 'low end' meaning pulling in the low RPM's in each gear. Then we started doing plugs, and an oil change because it was all we had time for. But soon we'll clean the throttle body & idle air valve and get it running A+ . Currently I am trying to find a transmission for my MBZ ; because of a broken B2 band :

The transmission had been rebuilt 3 years previous, but I don't think they rebuilt it with a new AT brake band ($210 part)
So right now I am looking at a 95 C280 sedan which has been wrecked that may have a AT that will work in my w124. I love german cars (except for VW / AUDI) , they are a pretty nice way to get up and down the highway & the quality is just astounding. I've never seen such a well built car as the Mercedes Benz ; I am impressed to say the least. The engine is awesome, and the interior beats the heck out of most luxury cars ; (I even have power headrests on the front seats) and it's quality well built german craftsmanship in every way. This transmission thing will get fixed pretty soon here and I'll have her back on the road, it's but a minor glitch! Plus i'd rather be under my car, than inside of a Honda.
